The American Cancer Society is pleased to partner with other not-for-profit organizations that are helping us make a difference in the fight against cancer.

The A.M.E. Church and the Society share common interests in reaching African Americans and other key constituents with messages relating to cancer. By forming a partnership, both organizations are capitalizing on each other's strengths to promote mutual goals via multiple communication channels. The two year collaboration focuses on cancer outreach and education, volunteerism, mission support, and the 80 by 2018 Colon Cancer Campaign.

The American Cancer Society is pleased to collaborate with Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Inc., to help finish the fight against cancer. This exciting initiative helps leverage our mutual commitment to saving lives and reducing health disparities among African Americans.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) unites organizations in collaborative partnerships through its mission-critical national roundtables. Currently, we provide organizational leadership and expert staff support to roundtables focused on breast cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, HPV vaccination, and patient navigation.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Cancer Society have a shared commitment to empower people with information about cancer they can trust. We want patients and families to easily find the trusted, expert approved content they need.

The partnership with the Southern Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is aimed at improving the health of its members and activating their communities to join the fight against cancer. The far-reaching partnership includes volunteerism, health education and awareness, research, advocacy, access to patient services and fundraising.

American Cancer Society and Melanoma Research Alliance have united to fund lifesaving research aimed at reducing side effects and improving outcomes for patients with melanoma and all patients treated with immunotherapy. In this first-of-its-kind partnership, each organization will directly contribute $1 million to support five research teams working to deliver breakthroughs faster than ever before.

The Society collaborates with the National Baptist Convention to implement breast and colorectal cancer outreach and education that will increase awareness of ways to reduce the risk of cancer and the importance of regular cancer screening.

In 1999, the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., launched its initiative to fight cancer in memory of Tyrone Kee, a member who lost his battle with the disease. Titled "Project S.W.W.A.C." (Sigmas Waging War Against Cancer), the initiative was designed to formalize a partnership with the Society that includes education on cancer prevention and early detection, participation in Relay For Life, and public policy advocacy.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the American Cancer Society developed a partnership with the goal of conquering kids’ cancers. Through this initiative, St. Baldrick’s and ACS raised funds to support the most innovative biological and clinical laboratory studies that have the greatest potential to quickly deliver new and improved treatments for kids with cancer. In total, this partnership has funded 14 research projects since 2020 and continues to be committed to funding pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancers.

The Eastern Area of The Links, Inc., has selected the ACS for a partnership focused on addressing breast cancer disparities and engaging their members in Society efforts to finish the fight against cancer. The partnership commenced on October 2014 and will end in October 2016. Our partnership will focus on three volunteer areas: (1) ACS CAN, (2) Community Health Initiatives, and (3) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. They are also interested in promoting ACS career opportunities to the Link membership.

Together ACS and the Zetas are engaging African American communities to fight back against cancer by fundraising, education and awareness programs, and supporting ACS CAN's legislative work.
